Your New Role We are looking for an experienced R&D Controller for a consultant assignment in a complex and innovation-driven environment. In this role, you will act as a strategic finance partner to R&D leadership and operational teams, supporting business decisions through strong financial analysis, transparency, and performance insights. You will be responsible for financial steering of the R&D portfolio, including forecasting, scenario planning, cost follow-up, and performance reporting. You will translate operational activities into clear financial impact and provide decision support to senior stakeholders by identifying risks, opportunities, and recommended actions. The role includes driving improvements in financial processes, governance, reporting structures, KPI definitions, and ways of working. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, R&D, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial flows, assumptions, and reporting logic. This assignment requires a consultant who can quickly understand complex environments, build trust with stakeholders, and create structure where information is continuously evolving. To succeed in this role, you will need: A degree in Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or similar.
7+ years of experience within controlling, FP&A, or business partnering in a complex environment.
Strong skills in financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and performance management.
Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making.
Advanced Excel skills and strong understanding of financial systems.
Fluency in English, written and spoken.
Meritorious: Experience with R&D controlling, project controlling, SAP, or Power BI. Personal qualities: Structured, pragmatic, analytical, and confident in driving discussions and creating clarity in complex situations.
