We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer to strengthen our vehicle motion control development, ensuring safe and reliable system behavior across all driving conditions. In this role, you will work at the intersection of system design, safety engineering, and vehicle dynamics, contributing to advanced mobility solutions in a global, cross-functional environment. Responsibilities & Tasks
Perform hazard analysis and risk assessments (HARA) for vehicle motion control systems
Define and break down functional safety requirements at system and component level
Support system architecture design with a focus on fail operational and degraded mode behavior
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams working on braking, steering, suspension, and control systems in a global team set up
Contribute to verification and validation activities through simulation and vehicle testing
Analyze vehicle behavior and ensure safe system performance under fault conditions
Lead safety case development and ensure compliance with ISO 26262
Document, track, and follow up on safety-related activities throughout the development process
Requirements & Skills
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 2 years experience in vehicle dynamics, chassis development, or control systems
Deep knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262)
Understanding of system architecture, software interfaces, and vehicle behavior
Analytical and structured mindset with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work both hands-on with testing and analytically with system design
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in an international environment
Minimum 2 years of experience in Vehicle Motion Controls development in Robot taxi L4 programs
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Documented experience from multicultural teams organized in a global setup
