Job description: Let's introduce ourselves
We are Electric Driveline & Hybrid, a department within Volvo Cars Engineering and we are responsible for the development of electric and hybrid drivelines, this includes electric motors, transmissions, driveshafts and mounts as well as combustion engines, transmissions and installation systems. The responsibility covers the development from advanced engineering, through concept development, industrialization and maintenance (quality). We are responsible for areas such as system and concept development, electromagnetic design, design of complete electric axels, simulation and verification, simulation (CAE), verification and validation, road load data collection, industrialization of electric axles. We are now seeking highly motivated Engineering Manager for the Electric Driveline Verification team, 97780.
What you'll do
As an engineering manager you have the operational responsibility to ensure product and technical execution and deliveries for your group.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team that consists of 16 analysis engineers who run function and durability tests for the electric driveline. Tests are run both internally and on external test sites
Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful project completion
Lead, mentor and grow a high performing team
Drive skill development, test method and test strategies
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and enhance efficiency
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team
Be an active participant the leadership team for the department
What you'll bring
You would carry a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or similar experience. You would aslo bring proven experience as leader with demonstrated ability to drive tasks in a complex and fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders. You will have a good understanding of high voltage electrical systems and electric drive units, including design, development, and validation processes.
You would bring excellent communication, leadership, presentation and organizational skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You are a person that is results driven, you build trust, have integrity and courage. You would also bring fluency in English, both spoken and written.
